Every Story has a Beginning.

Every Adult over the age of 25, fights the "Bulge". For those of you not sure what the "bulge" is, here's a list of things that could be considered "THE BULGE"

  • When you put that cute or manly shirt on and that area where your pants meet your belly looks more like a mushroom top and not an hour glass... that would be considered the bulge.

  • When you look sideways in mirror and happen to notice that unannounced to yourself, your back has decided that it's now displaying beautiful love humps. These are sometimes referred to as "back boobies".

  • Do you know what spanks are? For those that answer no, they're these lovely pair of undies that suck the life out of you and make breathing a sport for a day.

  • When shopping are you under the lovely sign that states, "Woman's world", which is really the section of the store made for woman who LOVE food and wine.

  • When going to Silverwood, you realize that the seat belt is more of a suggestion because gravity has nothing on your hips ability to seat wedge.

  • Have you ever had someone ask you, when's your lucky bundle of joy due?

  • Finally, when going to a restaurant, have your ever tried to move a table that is bolted to the floor?

Now those are just a couple of examples of Jenn and my fight with the bulge, and we realize that every one's experience is different so the real test is this, have you ever just looked at yourself in the mirror naked and hated it... then you my friend are having your own little battle with the bulge.

Jenn a couple of weeks ago, took up a weapon against the "bulge". Jenn decided that she would try the new medical weight loss, Ajuva. Now there seems to be a lot of opinions about medical weight loss and it's true effectiveness, so while Jenn and I were at Tomatoe Street having her last meal of "happiness", otherwise known as Pizza, Tomatoe Street bread with marinara, Seafood Fettuccine and a couple Daquries to wash it all down with. I thought it would a great idea to have a little competition between the two of us and during this little change in life style, I would write about all the ups and downs and maybe help someone out there who finds themselves in our shoes.

Now we've been doing this little competition for about two weeks and I some catching up.

First the two people involved and their stats.

Jenn - She's an amazing hair stylist. She works full time and is on her feet typically about ten to 12 hours during a shift. Her exercise regiment consisted maybe a gym visit when she felt motivated and dancing on the weekends with her gal pals. Her starting stats are as followed.

age: 29

Height : 5 ft 7.5 inches... seriously, only short people add those little (.) to their height.

Weight: 213.4 lbs

BMI: 32.9

fat %: 43.9%

fat mass: 93.61lbs

Her waist measured in at a lovely 39 inches.

Christina: Single mother of a four year old duaghter, goes to school full time, and works in Radiology about 32 hours a week. My excercise regiment is not far off of Jenn's but I did add a couple more gym visit and not because I was motivated more but because I'm cheap. I'm paying for the gym, I'm using the gym.

Now my stats age: 29

Weight: 239lb

Height: 5'10.5 :-)

A little excerpt.... Jenn is haivng her stats done by a doctor... I'm doing mine by hand.

So BMI calculated out BMI (45.15) = weight in pounds * 703 / height in inches²

My waist measured out to 42 inches.

For our first blog posting, I think you have the jest of what is going on. I'll continue to post more interesting facts, issues or all around funny moments as my start a journey to becoming the women we want to see in the mirror.
